As we head into summer, there will be a lot of times when you may want to show off your back. Because so many of us at KEDU have experienced bacne and back acne scars, we know the feeling of wanting to show skin without being self conscious about the scars on our bodies.
From cystic acne to hyperpigmentation on our shoulders, we know how frustrating it can be so, we reached out to a few of our dermatologist friends to understand how to rid out back from acne scars, once and for all.
How to Prevent Back Acne
- Avoid backpacks: Excessive rubbing and/or friction can cause a type of acne called mechanica - usually found on athletes, students or soldiers.
- Use an acne-medicated body wash: Washing with a body cleanser specific for acne, can help decrease acne pimples and inflammation. Look for ingredients like salicylic acid that break up blocked, clogged pores and decrease back acne inflammation.
- Wear breathable clothing: Yes, we understand the importance of looking cute at all times but, the type of clothing you wear plays a major part in how your skin reacts. Try wearing cotton fabrics in order to avoid trapping heat and sweat.
- Don’t pick: Picking acne pimples increase injury and will more than likely cause scars to form.
